Run Lauren

I love to create personalized cards!  My niece, Lauren, is running in her first half marathon in the fight against cancer. So proud of her!  Thought that this would be a cute way to send her a check in support of her cause.  Inside of card is below.  All was cut with the Cricut and used a cloud embossing folder for the background on front of card.  The words, good luck, filled the whole inside of the card.  Run, Lauren, run!

Easter Basket

Happy Easter!  This was all cut out with the Cricut.  The basket, eggs and bunny were cut from Doodlecharms.  The grass and bow were cut with Create-A-Critter.  For the basket, after cutting it out, it was too plain so decided to weave the base of it.  Just used two different colors of brown and weaved a big piece of it.  Then placed the cut out basket on top if it and trimmed the weaved part to fit - think it turned out really neat and makes the basket.  Pop dotted the grass and bow for dimension.  Love how this card turned out and hope you have a great Easter!

95th Birthday!

Made a card for a friends mom who was turning 95!  Decided to go with whimsical and so did a giant cupcake.  This is a 5x7 card so it is big!  All was cut with the Cricut. I took about 20 pictures of this card and could not get the colors right, it looks so bold pink and in person it is light pastels!  The 'icing' on top is just a light pink glitter paper which is what I think thru off the camera.  Anyway, it turned out nice, I like the way the white borders make it pop especially around the words.  Happy 95th Birthday!

March 2013 - Stamp Club

More wonderful cards from my stamp club!  I changed some of them as I need more 'thinking of you' type cards - all of these were to be birthday cards.  But as you can see, if you just change the words, they can be any type of card - just love how versitile they all are!

Three Flower

Needed to make birthday and thinking of you cards and so used the same design for both types.  The flower was cut with the Cricut and then I tried to coordinate papers so that it all matched.  Such a challenge for me!  Was working with a sample of this card and knew that the background papers had to match, but the top layers had to be different styles but in the same color group.  Now, you would think with ALL the papers that I have this would be easy!  Not!  But anyway, this is what I came up with and not certain that I like the black dots on the turquoise card, but it really makes it pop!  I also sponged the edges of the pink flowers a darker pink and put an sequin in the middle of each.

3D Flowers

So, can you tell that I am loving my Cricut lately?  I cut the flowers out on decorative paper and then pop dotted it and placed it over more decorative paper.  Love the effect of this as it is three dimensional.  Cut out stems and glued them on the top decorative sheet.   Put a brad for the center of the flowers and then cut out the words.  These turned out to be such bright, pretty cards, really liked the 3D look!

Southwest

This card was made with the Southwest Cricut cartridge.  Cut the window frame from just four squares and then outlined in one big square.  Then cut the cactus, feathers and boots from the Southwest cartridge.  Sponged the feathers in light blue ink and used silver Stickles for the spurs and nailhead for feathers.  Background paper is what I had in stock and the 'flooring' was made with light brown cardstock and just scored lines across it and then sponged ink lightly over it.  The blue sky and sun were done in chalks.

Bookmarks

Needed to make some bookmarks for a show and came up with these.  Aren't they cute?  Everything was cut with the Cricut.  I love to make things where you can play with words - dogs and barking, worm and book worm etc.  Hard to say which one is my favorite and still can't decide if I like it when I make all the letters different colors or when they are all the same color as in the pink one.  Which do you like best?  And the little dog just makes me smile when I look at him!

50th Wedding Anniversary

Happy Anniversary!  All of the cuts were done with the Cricut.  For the top part of the card, cut out the four hearts as one piece and then glued each set next to each other.  Since I could not space it properly, decided to paste them onto a cream cardstock and then trimmed it slightly smaller than the card so that the overlapping pieces would look like it was supposed to be that way!  The bottom part of the card is hand made paper that I had in stock and then cut out the 50 and another smaller heart in the oval and pop dotted them.  And to cover up the connection between top and bottom, put a gold and white ribbon.  Perhaps should of put a bow on the card, but just thought that it might make it too much.  All of the gold is glimmery paper that I had in stock and really made the card pop - sorry the picture just does not do it justice on how pretty it turned out.
