November 2013 Stamp Club

I missed going to Stamp Club this month so I had them put all my cards in bags and then I put them together at my house.  I know that mine are different than what they did, but I used all the same pieces!  I think they all turned out pretty good!  Missed you guys!

Cornucopia

Each year I make a Thanksgiving card for our employees and this one is from a free cut that the Cricut had.  Was so easy to do and the wording was easy to cut out too even though it was so skinny.  Usually have trouble cutting out items that are that thin.  Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Worm on the Fence

This card was all cut out with the Cricut.  I made the fence by welding long rectangles and then after it was printed out, just angled the top ends with a pair of scissors.  I don't have a fence in my collection of cartridges (gasp!), so had to make my own.  I like that you can make things with The Craft Room if you don't have the image you need.  You can create right on the screen by piecing together items and welding them, so much fun!  Click on the picture to enlarge it to see my little worm crawling on the fence!  This turned out to be a happy card, makes me smile!

Just Because Cat

I like these rainbow type cards.  I made one a few posts back that was listed under Happy Thoughts and now this one, Just Because.  I got the idea of the star-burst or rainbow from one of the Splitcoast Challenges.  I cut all the pieces and edged them in brown, then laid them all out and it makes a perfect start-burst.  Made several of these cards with different stamps on the front.  And the hardest part for me is always paper matching.  Well finally got one of my little 4x6 (or 5x7)books of papers that we all collect and used several out of one of the books and all the papers go together perfectly!  Hope you have a great day 'just because'!

October 2013 Stamp Club

Opps, really late in posting these cards!  These are cards from our October Stamp Club.  As always, I changed up a few of them to suit my needs, but all were the same general idea.  I really like the bottom right card, looks like a little file folder!  Thanks, Diane, for putting up with me for always changing things!

50th Birthday

A friend turned 50 this year, so had to come up with a 50th birthday card for her!  Made the 50 with my Cricut and made an easel card so that after you open it the 50 can stay popped up.  For the Happy Birthday, it needed to be raised so that the top part of the card would have a brace so that it could stand up.  This was made with Shrink Plastic!  I stamped a rather large Happy Birthday directly onto a piece of white Shrink Plastic.  Made sure it was dry and then heated it up and had fun watching it shrink- it is always fun to watch that!  Then I just taped to inside of card and I had my thick brace.  Worked out perfect and I know that she had a great time on her special day!

Bible Verses

I wanted to  make some cards that had bible verses on them.  Found another blog (Word Art Wednesday) that had some free downloads, and came up with these four.  The inside I left blank so that you could write your own thoughts on the inside.  All of them are basically the same, but all are different.  Used different Cuttlebug Folders and embellishments.

Acorn and Leaves

A rather simple card, yet turned out rather nice.  Acorn and leaves cut with Cricut.  Used a square of burlap, but the weave was too tight.  So pulled out some of the strings to open it up more.  Used Floral Flourishes Cuttlebug Folder for background paper.  Paper was same color as card, so pop-dotted it onto front of card for dimension.  Happy Fall!

Halloween Cards

These cards are free cuts that were on the Cricut a while back.  Normally don't send out Halloween cards, but thought that these four were really cute.  Have a new Brick Cuttlebug Folder and was able to use it on the first two, really like the look of it!  The ghost was put on with a Wobble Spring, so you could actually make him move.  And the little mice on the bottom card . . . had them running around in the inside of the card too!  Hope you had a safe Halloween!

Storyteller

My sister-in-law recently gave me a stamp, so I decided to made a thank you card with the stamp!  LOL!  This was a hard one to make, as there is not much coloring on the stamp itself and don't normally make this type of card.  After researching on the internet, figured out that I just needed to color it in muted colors and then add a splash of turquoise.  Colored the Storyteller in Copics and then used chalks for the background.  Used Crystal Effects on all the turquoise so that it is shinny and makes the card pop!  Added feathers that were free clipart that I colored and then cut out.  Background is the perfect piece of leftover wallpaper that I had in my stash!  Think the card turned out pretty neat and Marilyn liked it too!  Thanks again!

Happy Thoughts

Have always wanted to make one of these star-burst type cards, but never had a means to do it.  Cricut had a free cut, a while back, for one so made several of them.  I made mine all different colors of the rainbow.  Had to cut the design out seven times to get all the colors and then laid them out on each card.  Inside is an Irish Blessing - I really do think that sometimes I spend more time looking for the right inside wording than I do on making the card!  But it is so worth it in the end to make it all come together!

Wedding Card

Had a couple of weddings to go to this summer and luckily Cricut had a free cut of the bride and groom.  So cut out a few and made this simple, elegant card.  Put the dress thru the Swiss Dots embossing folder and then the background is the Floral Border embossing folder.  Used my Viva Pearl Pen for the pearl dots on the dress and background.  And used a piece of vellum for the veil and pop dotted the man and woman - so simple!

Thinking of You Flower

I am always making Thinking of You cards for a few special people in my life and here is another one.  The blue/purple background, and flower, were cut with the Cricut and then I pop dotted it all onto the pink paper.  Just a quick, easy card to let them know that I am thinking of them.

September 2013 Stamp Club

Always so much fun at Stamp Club.  Love these cards as they are all different!  The first card, "thankful" is actually a diecut and the last card would make a pretty neat any-type man card!  Love them all!

Caught a Bug?

Have had this stamp set from Inky Antics for a long time and never made a card with it because I just could not figure out how to lay it all out.  Finally figured it out and think that it turned out cute!  It has been a long time since I made a one layer card, I stamped directly on to the card front.  I colored all with Copics.  For the flyswatter, I wanted to make it so that you could see the bug underneath.  I cut out the inside of the flyswatter and then used Waste Fabric from cross stitching and removed some of the strands and viola, I have a screen!  Turned out really neat looking.  I pop dotted just the handle part as the screen part is too thin to put the dots on it.  Almost makes you want to get sick so you will get the card in the mail someday!

Chocolate Bar

This chocolate card has been in the making for over a  year!  I saw it on someone's blog and loved it and then never made it.  Even borrowed my neighbor's Traffic embossing folder and it all just sat there.  Finally, the card!  If you cut out the little squares that the Traffic embossing folder makes and then you pop dot them, cover half the image with real aluminum foil and voila, you have a candy bar!  So cute!

After making this card,  it sat on my desk for another few weeks until I had the time to search for just the right saying - sometimes that can take as long as it takes to make the card!  Hope you enjoy!

Bushel of Apples

Another die cut card!  This was once again cut out with my Cricut.  Made the outline of the basket with the apples and then cut out all the images to match the basket.  Imagine all the items that could go into this basket for all different seasons and reasons.  Expect to see more of this image in later posts - love it!

ATV

This card was a fast card to make - just cut the ATV image out using the cartridge Dude with the Cricut (has three layers).  Then I just pop dotted it onto a rough/pebble looking piece of wall paper!  Years ago I got a wallpaper book from a paint store and am still using pages out of the book!  It really gave this card a neat look and feel.  To the left is the inside of the card.  Once again, I love to play with words and so I came up with At The Very for ATV - get it - LOL!  David liked the card and he had a great birthday!

Whenever I give a card that is not mailed, I always have to decorate the envelope.  I took a model car and inked up one of the wheels and ran it across the envelope for tire tracks because my theme of the card was the ATV.  Cleaned off the tire and put the model back and no one is wiser for me doing it - shhhhh!

Summertime!

Isn't this a cute image - he looks so relaxed!  Image is a Penny Black stamp that I got at a recent garage sale and I colored him with my favorites - Copics and chalks.  Background is light blue paper that I put through the Cuttlebug with a Clouds folder.  Think he turned out cute and and hope you stay cool during the summer!

Die Cut Mason Jar

Another mason jar only this one is the whole card!  I like shape cards and saw several ideas on the internet and so had to come up with my own.  I cut the jar from the Doodlecharms Cricut cartridge, cut it just the right size to fit into an A2 envelope.  Then I embellished with other die cuts.  This card can be used for a lot of different occasions and you can even put different things in the jar for different seasons.  I can't wait to see what else I create with this image, you will be seeing more of it for sure!

August 2013 Stamp Club

The cards that we make in our Stamp Club are always so pretty and neat.  I especially like it when we learn something completely new.  The last card, the lavender card, was made with blue painters tape!  You take a strip of tape and put it on your stamp pad, ink it up, then place on the card and pull it up.  It leaves the impression of the ink - so very cool - will be making more of this style soon.  Thanks, Diane, for more great cards - love them all!

Mason Jars

Ever make a card and like it so much that you make more in different colors?  Well that is what happened to this one and now I can't decide which one I like the best - can you?  The mason jar was cut out with a Nestabilities die and then I cut the inside out of it.  Put a piece of vellum as the 'glass' and then put a piece of blue behind that for the 'water'.  For the flowers just used a punch and then pop dotted them all .  Used a piece of brown string for the top of the jar so that I could hang the little note.  I think they turned out so cute!
