Spring Is Here!

My neighbor has a beautiful yard with all these amazing flowering plants.  I went around and took pictures of all her plants and then made a card for her.  I actually printed the flowers on vellum and then attached them to white cardstock.  Just gave the pictures an interesting look/feel.  The inside was just a neat poem that I found on the internet.  After taking the pictures and giving her the card, I realize that I took the pictures with the wrong settings - therefore they are fuzzy.  Is it in bad taste to ask for the card back just to retake the pictures!?  Yes!  So we have to do with sorta fuzzy photos, sorry.

1st Fathers Day

My son is a first time father and we are so proud of him!  I cut out all the little items from several different Cricut cartidges and each item represents something about him.  I used photo frame die-cuts for corners.  I hope he has a great first Fathers Day!

Man In Suit

Decisions, decisions . . . I spend way too much time when making a card.  I usually get the idea then lay it out and come back the next day and move things around and lay them out again and this process could go on for days until it seems right.  With this card, for my father-in-law, the big decision was where to put the man figure - in the middle or off to the side.  He is bigger than the oval and after many movements from here to there, I finally decided to put him off to the side.  I like where it ended up!  I went with really simple and no bling, just pop dotted the man on the card.  The man figure was a free cut off of the Art Deco Cartridge.

Tee-rific Birthday

Another man card!  Man cards are so hard to make because there are sooooo many flowers out there and whenever I come across an item to make a man card, I usually go for it.  Tee-rific, another play on words, my favorite thing to do with cards.  Inside of card:  Hope you score a hole in one!  And don't you like the golf ball!?

(Also, figured out that when you use a Nestability to cut out the wording in the above card, that the next size die is just too big.  So I cut it out, then embossed it so now the word area is raised up.  I used a Copic marker to outline on this lower part and now I have a "frame" around my words that looks like it is the right size!  I know that people have been doing this forever, but I just figured it out!).

Welcome Baby

Got a free cut from Sure-Cuts-A-Lot and so thought that I would make a baby card with it, it was just so cute, couldn't resist.  The dots on the flowers and ribbon are made with a Pearl Pen.  It is done in Ice White and I think that it might be a new fun item to use.  You can just dot things with it and let it dry and then it gives the illusion of it being a pearl.  It comes in different colors, might have to pick up more colors!  Also the safety pin in the corner was cut on glitter paper, looks almost real!

#1 Dad

Made a card for a friend whose dad is a sports fanatic.  #1 Dad was cut with the Cricut and the sports balls are ones that I picked up from the dollar store.  They are felt and sticky tape already on the back.  Gives the card an added dimension!  Background paper is from my stash and the lines going across look like grass.  Thought it went great with the rest of the card!
