A Sweet Day

Wanted to make a 'sweet' card and decided on ice cream!  The ice cream cone was cut from the Indie Art Cartridge.  Very hard to tell in the picture, but I put Diamond Glaze on the ice cream part so that it is shiny.  And finally, for once, I had ribbon to match my paper!  I usually don't buy all the coordinating paper or ribbons that match from all the different companies, but maybe I should rethink that - this turned out kinda cute, all coordinated in color!

Welcome Home

A friend was gone on vacation and so needed to make a 'welcome home' card.  I took pictures of two beautiful plants in her yard and then used them as the focal point on the front of the card.  For the wording, I am terrible at putting things in a straight line - I don't even try to do it anymore!  So for the words, I had a small square stamp that I stamped out the spaces with and purposely made them at different angles.  Then I took the word stamps and matched them up to the angle of the squares.  Works out perfectly and no stress on my part as this is how it is supposed to look!

Bon Voyage

A friend is going on a cruise to Alaska and I needed a 'bon voyage' card for her.  With luck, the Cricut Craft Room had a free cut from Art Deco of a ship.  The waves were cut out and I just pop-dotted the top set of waves and off set them a little and then put the ship in between the waves.  Bon Voyage was cut from Beyond Birthdays.  Such a simple card - hope they have a great trip!

July 4, 2013

Hope everyone had a safe, happy July 4th!  The image on this card was a free digi from Create with TLC.  It was colored with Copics and I put Stickles on the red stripes of the flag.  The words were done with the Cricut.  Inside wording was done on my computer and the little red fireworks were done with a small stamp.  Really like the simplicity of this card.

Day Full of Joy

I have seen several cards made with 'flags' or 'tags' and decided that I needed to make one also.  Well I ended up making two because I liked how it was turning out!  I love polka dot paper and decided to do a yellow and green one - can't decide which one is my favorite.  The inside was just printed on my computer.  Hope they had a day full of joy!

June 2013 Stamp Club

More wonderful cards from Stamp Club!  Just love all the cool cards that we always get to make, thanks Diane!  I always end up changing little things on most cards just because I have different needs for my cards, so they might look a little different that what others do - but they are always the same general idea.  Love how these turned out, Diane is always making me think 'outside the box'!

Happy 91st Birthday!

Happy 91st Birthday, Dad!  Yes, my father-in-law turned 91 in May and this was the card that I made for him.  He did like it, but admitted that he was not the bow-tie kind of man!  Bow-ties were cut with the Cricut and then I just used a circle punch for the center of the ties.  Thought that it added an additional dimension to them.  I struggled with how to put the circle punch on - do I line it up or put it so that it is going a different direction than the tie.  Finally decided to do what is above, as when you tie a bow-tie, the center never matches.  Maybe this is why it takes forever to make a card because of all the thought processes that go on!

My Son Got Married!

My youngest son got married and we are so happy for the new couple!  They had a small wedding on Friday and then a reception/party on Saturday.  A great time was had by all!  Of course, I could not let this big occasion pass without some creativity.  The centerpieces on the tables were a Mason jar with sliced lemons and then a big sunflower and daisies in each.  Think they turned out kinda neat!  We also cut a square of burlap and then put a doily on each to finish off the centerpieces.  My daughter-in-law had the idea for this, so I think I see crafting in our future together!
Favors were a metal tin that we filled half of them with candy coated sunflower seeds and the other half had salted sunflower seeds.
For the wedding on Friday it was supposed to be very hot and so I made some fans for us all to use, but when the day arrived, it was a pleasant day with a nice breeze, so we didn't have to use them.  We later just laid them out on each table at the reception.
For the wedding on Friday, I made these favors for the dinner afterward.  I just love the look of nuggets that are just wrapped with a printed label.  So easy to make and always look so nice!  I used my Cricut to cut out the date and names.
And the happy couple!  Absolutely love this picture!  Congratulations David and Morgan!!

1st Mothers Day

Happy First Mothers Day - once again all was cut with the Cricut.  Just love how this card turned out with the baby carriage and baby bottles.  The photo was taken with the wrong settings on my camera - see post below - and therefore it does not show the colors properly.  Sorry about that again, but I just wanted to share how cute it turned out!  We all had a wonderful mothers day!
